When I saw Catherine Matos Olivo’s work for the first time at the 2nd San Juan Poligraphic Triennial, it did not immediately grab my attention. I was strolling through the room looking at the different works displayed, when I caught a quick glimpse of several postcards of photographs neatly placed on a shelf. Opening September 12th 2009, Renwick Gallery in New York City presents Talia Chetrit’s first solo show. This young emerging photographer was the Category Winner of the 2008 Photography Book Now competition. In her experimental photographs, she explores the perception of space through light and color.
