Carla Acevedo – Publisher/Managing Editor

Carla received her B.A. in Literature and Arts from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York and pursued studies in Photography at the Spéos Photographic Institute in Paris. She worked as Editorial Assistant for Review: Literature and Arts of the Americas, a publication from the Americas Society and is currently a contributing writer for ArtPulse Magazine, the Puerto Rico Daily Sun and Smallaxe. She lives and works in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Alejandro Sordo Guzmán - Contributing Writer

Alejandro holds a Bachelors in International Relations from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and is currently pursuing a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Art at the Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm in Mexico.  He wrote a thesis on international law and environmental issues, with a case study on the Mesoamerican Reefsupported by the CONACYT Fund at the Instituto Mora in Mexico City. He participated as part of the Academic specialized staff in multidisciplinary education for Senior students at the TEC Santa Fe. He has collaborated with Luis Adelantado Gallery coordinating the Luis Adelantado Inaugural Exhibition, and with Upper Playground/Fifty 24 MX Gallery as a writer, curator and events organizer. He served as Executive Director of Fundación Viva por un México Unido (Fundación México Unido) and he participated as part of the Academic specialized staff in multidisciplinary education for Senior students at the TEC Santa Fe. He lives and works in Mexico. D.F.

Adán Vallecillo - Contributing Writer

Visual artist and independent curator. He was born in Danlí, Honduras. He studied Sociology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (2010), and the Visual Arts at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas, San Juan, Puerto Rico (2000) and the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes, Tegucigalpa (1995). His artistic career includes dozens of individual and collective exhibitions, as well as various conferences and workshops in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the United States. As a curator, he has coordinated contemporary art projects for the Bienal del Caribe in the Dominican Republic 2003, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras 2003-2008, Image Art Factory, Belize City, 2003, Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo, San José, Costa Rica 2005, among others. He is founder and director of Lamanchadetomate, a non-profit experimental art space that, since May 2009, has been organizing numerous personal and collective exhibitions in and outside his country. He is currently working on the publication of the book Arte Político en Honduras 2000-2010, and has been invited as a guest curator by the MADC for the exhibition + / - Esperanza, that is scheduled to open during the months of August and September 2010 in San José, Costa Rica.
