Puerto Rican Artist Christto Sanz who currently resides in Doha, Qatar has realized his first exhibition in the Middle East. In collaboration with the South African artist Andrew Jay Weir they have developed a project that concludes with the principle idea of an extended identity. With a touch of irony and humor they present different personalities with different elements that demonstrate a shared identity between the “East” and the “West”. With an intention to unravel the misconception of the Middle Eastern image and include the current context of modern Arab countries. The artists seek to capture the reality of a globalized world where geographical boundaries and cultures converge in an era without era; and thus creating an assortment of possibilities. The exhibition called “UNPARALLELED OBJECTIVES” will be held at the Katara Art Center opening on the 5th of May 2012 for a duration of four weeks. The exhibition will include a series of photographs and a video installation created by the artists.
